Our 47 style capsule used in the popular Stellar X2 Vintage Model is made using pure brass and Japanese imported Mylar. They are manufactured with highly accurate machinery to achieve tighter tolerances. Due to their perfected design, our capsules obtain higher sensitivity making them able to reproduce even the most subtle sounds.
Name: TZ-K47 Vintage Capsule
Capsule Type: Single Sided Cardioid Pattern
Frequency Range: 20Hz - 18kHz
Dimensions: Diameter: 34mm
Mounting Screws: M1.6 x 5mm
All our capsules are tested for frequency response and sensitivity before shipment. Using our proprietary testing rig, we are able to test capsules for frequency response and sensitivity without the need for soldering or even attaching screws. Frequency response must be within 1.5dB range of tolerance and sensitivity must be within 0.5dB.
Always hold the capsule by its edges. Never touch the gold sputtered diaphragm or back side. Carefully remove the protective case of the capsule. Place the capsule onto a flat surface with the center termination facing up.
Carefully position the capsule onto its stand. Slowly rotate the capsule and stand so it faces down.
Screw in one screw onto the side of the capsule. Then lay the capsule and stand on its side and screw in the ground lead. Make sure to hold onto the ground lead as it can spin. DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN.
Carefully pass the center termination wire through the base plate on the front. Do the same for the ground lead. Make sure not to tug on any wires.
Solder the ground (blue) wire onto the MIC - pin/pad/joint. Then. solder the center termination (white) wire to the MIC + pin/pad/joint of your microphone. Make sure that your capsule is protected by the head basket when soldering.
