The Stellar X2 series microphones use a high-quality steel body with our custom-made low noise transformerless FET circuit and a high-quality K67 style capsule. The combination of these two features yields a microphone with a high output signal, extremely low distortion, and low self-noise. Furthermore, each JFET in the StellarX2 is manually biased to ensure a smooth and balanced sound.
The factory-matched pair of the Stellar X2 is tested to ensure that both microphones produce the same sound. With our state of the art anechoic chamber, frequency sweeps are conducted to accurately analyze each microphone. We then meticulously pair each microphone to another to a tolerance of 0.5 dB in sensitivity and 2dB in their frequency response.
Just like every Stellar X2 Series microphone, the matched pairs go through our intensive quality control process. This includes visual inspection for quality and a self-noise test to ensure every circuit performs within specifications.
For ease of transportation, the matched pair series of the Stellar X2 comes in a large protective case that fits all the accessories and microphones.
