At the core of Stellar X2 Vintage microphone is the iconic '47 style capsule. This capsule produces a very warm, mid-focused sound that is soothing for many applications. The X2 Vintage’s frequency response is perfect for string instruments as it brings out the warmth and mids rather than the highs. As for vocals, it prevents any unwanted sounds such as sibilance. The X2 Vintage uses a high-quality JFET circuit similar to that found in the X2 but with a few modifications to improve noise floor and transparency. Just like our X2, the X2 Vintage’s capsule is made with the same tolerances and Japanese imported mylar with our proprietary gold sputtering technology that increases sensitivity and reduces thin sounds.
Every Stellar X2 Vintage features a manually biased JFET and polarization voltage to ensure every microphone produces a high output signal and low distortion with a low self-noise. The head basket and end cap on the Stellar X2 Vintage utilizes electrostatic painting to provide a very smooth and shiny finish that will make it stand out in any microphone locker. All our microphones go through our intensive quality control process. This includes a frequency sweep test in our anechoic chamber as well as a self-noise test to ensure every circuit performs within specifications.

Tape Op Magazine Review
"I was interested to hear how it would capture the sound of my Martin acoustic guitar, and was impressed with the results. The X2 Vintage performed liked a mic well above its price tag. The recording was full, precise, and the tone was nicely balanced. It captured both the delicate finger picking, as well as harder full-on strums with full articulation, and the finished results were natural sounding and true to the source. Having two of the X2 Vintage mics gave me the chance to experiment with some stereo guitar and vocal recordings. Here is where these microphones really shined. Normally, I have to try three to four different mic positions to capture a good open sound with acoustic guitar, but I got it right away with these. The moment I realized that I really liked this particular model came after recording vocals."
Our flagship microphone: The Stellar X2 Vintage Edition produces a sound that is reminiscent of iconic microphones
K47 Style Capsule
Carefully Tuned Sound: Utilizes the Iconic '47 Style Capsule. This produces a very mid-range focused and vintage tone.
High-Quality Capsule: Our capsules are made using pure brass and Japanese imported Mylar. They are manufactured with highly accurate machinery to achieve tighter tolerances. Due to their perfected design, our capsules obtain higher sensitivity making them able to reproduce even the most subtle sounds.
Highly Optimized Circuit
Our custom transformerless JFET circuit provides excellent performance with low noise (< 10dBa) and low distortion. Added features and improved components work alongside the K47 style capsule to give our microphone a vintage tone. Our circuit is made using German WIMA film capacitors and components with tolerances as high as 1%. In addition, the PCB uses gold traces for better conductivity.
High Quality Construction
Our Stellar X2 Vintage’s body and frame are made from high-grade steel. This gives our microphones added durability. The main body is powdered coated then treated in an oven for added resistance to scratches. Electroplating is used for painting the head basket and end-cap for its scratch-resistant properties and stunning shiny finish.
