The TZ 47 Studio condenser microphone takes everything we learned here at TZ audio and puts the best into one package. The microphone is designed to simulate a tube microphone thanks to its output transformer design which produces musical harmonic distortions that is pleasing on vocals and many other sources. It is our first multi pattern microphone which makes this our most versatile microphone yet.
The capsule used in the TZ 47 is based on the K47 capsule used in Stellar X2 Vintage but instead of a single gold sputtered diaphragm, there are 2 in order to provide a multi-pattern pick up. The capsule uses a thin 3 micron Mylar to provide higher sensitivity than other capsule designs. Each capsule is carefully tested in our proprietary rig before it even gets installed on a microphone where its then tested again.

The TZ-47 Microphone is our most versatile microphone yet, featuring a multi pattern design as well as a transformer output for vintage tonality.
Dual Sided K47 Capsule
Carefully Tuned Sound: Utilizes the Iconic '47 Style Capsule. This produces a very mid-range focused and vintage tone.
High-Quality Capsule: Our capsules are made using pure brass and Japanese imported Mylar. They are manufactured with highly accurate machinery to achieve tighter tolerances. Due to their perfected design, our capsules obtain higher sensitivity making them able to reproduce even the most subtle sounds.
Advanced Vintage-Like Circuit
Our custom transformer based JFET circuit provides excellent performance with vintage like characteristics. This is thanks to its carefully selected components (including WIMA capacitors and Audio-Grade signal capacitors from Bevenbi) and a transformer output. The transformer is also carefully selected to provide coloration to the microphone similar to what a vintage microphone would provide. This includes a fuller bass response as well as a more pleasing high end.
Frequency Response and Polar Pattern
The graph below shows the frequency chart and the polar pattern of the TZ-47 microphone. Use the buttons below to switch between the different polar patterns. Every microphone will be within 2dB of the frequency response as part of our strict quality control process.
